In 2024, SICA LLC successfully completed consultancy services for data collection, commissioned by CT Group, to assess the socio-economic conditions and political attitudes of residents of Ulaanbaatar City.

Under this project, the objective was to develop a reliable database by comprehensively examining citizens' quality of life, economic conditions, social values, key challenges, political participation, and the factors influencing their political preferences and voting decisions.

The research was conducted in accordance with international research methodologies and quality standards, utilizing a mixed-methods approach that combined both quantitative and qualitative techniques. The quantitative survey covered 1,000 residents of Ulaanbaatar, while the qualitative component included two focus group discussions involving a total of 16 participants. These discussions provided in-depth insights into participants’ opinions, values, attitudes, and perspectives on the issues under study.

Throughout the project, data collection activities were carried out based on a rigorous sampling methodology and a comprehensive quality control system. Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and representativeness of the data collected. In addition, the research team conducted continuous monitoring and supervision at every stage of the data collection process, implementing quality assurance measures to validate and maintain the integrity of the dataset.

The database generated through this study provided a solid evidence base for assessing the current socio-economic conditions of Ulaanbaatar residents, public opinion, and the prevailing political environment in the capital. Furthermore, the findings served as a valuable source of information for evaluating shifts in public attitudes, supporting evidence-based policymaking, developing electoral strategies, and enhancing the effectiveness of public communication and stakeholder engagement efforts.

Furthermore, the database developed through this project serves as a valuable foundation for enhancing citizen participation, promoting civic engagement, and designing new initiatives and programs that are responsive to public needs and expectations. As a robust source of evidence, it supports stakeholders in developing more targeted, effective, and citizen-centered policies and interventions.
