Yearly, the World Happiness Index ranks countries based on factors such as social welfare, income, health, freedom, generosity, and perceptions of corruption. This indicator can be understood as a measure of how happy the citizens of a particular country are. In the 2025 World Happiness Index, Finland ranked first for the eighth consecutive year. The index scores countries on a scale from 0 to 10, with scores closer to 10 indicating greater happiness and scores closer to 0 indicating lower levels of happiness. The top five countries were as follows:

Costa Rica - 7.439

Sweden - 7.255
For Mongolia, the country ranked 75th out of 147 countries, with a score of 5.936.
Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, and Malawi, countries affected by conflict and severe socio-economic challenges, ranked at the bottom of the index.
