We help organizations make data-driven strategic decisions by conducting market research, analyzing supply and demand, assessing competitive landscapes, and exploring consumer behavior in both domestic and international markets.

Project Objective

The primary objective of the study was to identify the media consumption behavior of Mongolian citizens, including the frequency with which they access information, the sources they use, their engagement with both traditional and digital media channels, and their perspectives on international events and issues.

The study was designed to provide a comprehensive picture of current information consumption patterns and serve as a foundation for understanding emerging trends in Mongolia’s media landscape.

Survey Coverage

The survey was conducted nationwide and included:

  • Coverage of Ulaanbaatar and all 21 provinces of Mongolia
  • Data collection from 2,500 respondents aged 18–69
  • Representative sampling across age, gender, education level, income group, and geographic location
  • Analysis of differences in media consumption patterns between urban and rural populations

This approach enabled the creation of a nationally representative dataset with broad analytical value.

Research Methodology

Within the scope of the project, the questionnaire provided by the client was translated into Mongolian, and a data collection system was developed and prepared. Interviewer training and quality control procedures were also organized to ensure the reliability of the data collection process.

The survey was conducted using the CATI (Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing) methodology, allowing high-quality data to be collected efficiently from a large number of participants within a relatively short period.

The study covered the following key topics:

  • Frequency of information consumption
  • Most commonly used information sources
  • Usage of traditional media channels such as television, newspapers, and radio
  • Use of social media and digital platforms
  • Trust levels in various information sources
  • Public perceptions and attitudes toward domestic and international events

Findings and Significance

The dataset collected through the survey provides valuable insights into the media consumption behavior of Mongolian citizens from multiple perspectives.

The findings can be used to:

  • Identify patterns in information consumption
  • Assess trends in the development of the media sector
  • Improve content and channel strategies for media organizations
  • Design more effective public communication campaigns
  • Enhance information accessibility and impact
  • Support research, analysis, and evidence-based policymaking

The study therefore contributes an important foundation for future media and communication research in Mongolia.
